Texas appears to be in good standing with four-star edge Damien Shanklin.
Shanklin is rated the No. 6 edge in the country for the 2025 recruiting class and No. 1 overall recruit in Indiana, according to 247Sports. The 6-foot-4 pass rusher narrowed down the schools in his recruitment on Wednesday.
Texas made the cut for Shanklin’s top schools alongside Notre Dame, USC, Tennessee, Ohio State, Texas A&M, Oregon, Cincinnati, Miami, LSU, Washington and Michigan.
Shanklin has an official visit to Texas scheduled for June 21. At the time, both 247Sports and On3 view Notre Dame as the heavy leader in his recruitment.
