Four-star defensive end Zac Swanson lists Texas in top four schools

Texas is among the final four programs left in the running for four-star defensive end Zac Swanson.

The Texas Longhorns and Steve Sarkisian extended an offer to four-star defensive end Zac Swanson in February.

Swanson is listed as the No. 4 overall player in Arizona and a top-20 defensive end from the 2022 recruiting class according to 247Sports.

Prior to Texas extending an offer, Swanson told 247Sports that Oregon, USC and Oklahoma were the three schools standing out most. However, the Sooners were left off of Swanson’s top four programs on Monday.

Outside of the final four schools mentioned, the 6-foot-4, 255-pound playmaker was targeted by well-respected programs such as Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Michigan State, UCLA and Iowa State.

Sarkisian is aware of the importance of landing the top in-state talent, but he’s simultaneously making his mark felt on the highest rated out-of-state recruits as well.

Although Texas has the No. 4 recruiting class in the nation for the 2022 cycle, the Longhorns have yet to land a defensive lineman.
