Four Oklahoma commits rank in top 100 of ESPN’s prospect rankings

A total of five Oklahoma Sooner commits among the ESPN 300 recruiting rankings that were released on Thursday.

The Oklahoma Sooners got off to a hot start on the recruiting trail for the 2022 cycle but has since cooled a bit.

As it sits at the current point in time the Sooners have seven commitments to the class led by a trio of wide receivers and one running back. They have also added a tight end, linebacker, and center to the mix. According to the team rankings provided by 247Sports, their composite team ranking has them at No. 7. The Sooners are the number one class in the conference with the Texas Longhorns right on their heels.

ESPN released their initial rankings on Thursday with a total of five OU commits in the top 300 and four in the top 100. It all begins with Jordan Hudson at No. 12 overall. He is the second-highest wide receiver on the list, just behind Evan Stewart who recently decommitted from Texas.

  • Luther Burden, WR: Saint Louis, MO (No. 42)
  • Raleek Brown, RB: Santa Ana, CA (No. 85)
  • Kobie McKinzie, LB: Lubbock, TX (No. 110)

The Sooners are among the top choices for several other top prospects including Devon Campbell of Arlington-Bowie, Gentry Williams of Booker T. Washington in Tulsa, and Gavin Sawchuk of Littleton, Colorado.
