Taylor Jungmann, SP
D1Baseball.com says Jungmann’s career was “one of the most impressive careers in the program’s illustrious history.” Playing for three seasons from 2009-2011, he broke out his sophomore season in 2010. Pitching 120 innings, Jungmann recorded a 2.03 ERA with 129 strikeouts and 41 walks. That was good enough to get him Baseball American All-American First Team.
His junior season was even better when he threw 141 innings and had an outstanding 1.60 ERA. Both his strikeouts and walk numbers went down, recording 126 strikeouts and 36 walks. That season won him the honor of Big 12 Pitcher of the Year and he won it unanimously.
Spending three years in the major leagues with Milwaukee, he has not had the same success in the big leagues. In 30 career games, he has a 4.54 ERA. He was much better with Texas, where he made two College World Series Appearances.
