Former Vol Andison Coby to play in Eric Evans’ offense

Former Vol wide receiver Andison Coby to play in Eric Evans’ offense.

Sophomore wide receiver Andison Coby entered the NCAA transfer portal Jan. 13.

The 6-foot-2, 180-pound Coby appeared in five games for the Vols in 2021, totaling one reception for five yards under first-year head coach Josh Heupel.

Coby has committed to play at Western Michigan.

Tim Lester enters his sixth season as Western Michigan’s head coach in 2022.

Eric Evans has served as the Broncos’ co-offensive coordinator, passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach since 2017. He calls plays for Western Michigan during games.

Evans came to Western Michigan after serving as Dayton’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach from 2014-16.

He was UAB’s running backs coach in 2013, reuniting with head coach Garrick McGee. McGee was offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Northwestern from 2006-07, while Evans was a graduate assistant working with quarterbacks, wide receivers and tight ends for the Wildcats.
