Former USC QB Jaxson Dart takes a forward step in Ole Miss win at Tulane

Ole Miss has a few high-profile transfer QBs. Dart clearly leads the pack after this game.

Former USC Trojan Jaxson Dart is trying to catapult his career to a higher plane. The Ole Miss quarterback accounted for 308 yards and passed for two touchdowns on Saturday, as No. 20 Ole Miss pulled away to beat No. 24 Tulane 37-20. This game could improve his confidence this season.

Third-year sophomore Kai Horton was the surprise starter for Tulane. Horton made his second career start in Michael Pratt’s place with a knee injury. Pratt was a surprising scratch just before kickoff. Horton completed 15 of 37 passes for 231 yards with one touchdown and one interception.

Former USC head coach Lane Kiffin, now at Ole Miss, moved up a few spots in the polls after a solid road victory over a good Tulane team which beat USC in the Cotton Bowl last January.

The Rebels will take on Georgia Tech (1-1) at home next week in a trap game.

It is safe to say that Jaxson Dart is clearly the starter at Ole Miss over transfers Spencer Sanders and Walker Howard this season. That debate has been put to bed.
