Former Georgia outside linebacker Robert Beal was selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the fifth round of the 2023 NFL draft.
Beal was picked No. 173 overall and became Georgia’s eighth player to be taken from its back-to-back national championship-winning team.
Beal will join former Georgia wide receiver Chris Conley and tight end Charlie Woerner in San Francisco.

Beal ran an official 4.48 second 40-yard dash, the sixth-fastest time among edge rushers and linebackers, at the NFL combine.
Beal played at Georgia from 2018-2022. He capped his career with back-to-back national championships. Beal finished his senior season with 2.5 sacks and 25 total tackles. Beal accumulated nine total sacks in his final two seasons in Athens.
