Uncertainty continues to surround Minor League Baseball.
After ESPN reported last week that hundreds of cuts were expected across all minor league teams, three former Longhorns unfortunately felt the repercussions of that this week.
Infield prospects Zane Gurwitz and C.J Hinojosa joined first baseman Kacy Clemens among those cut. Clemens hit .191 last season over his 112 games with A-Advanced Dunedin and Double-A New Hampshire.
According to their bios on the MILB website, Kacy Clemens (Blue Jays), C.J Hinojosa (Brewers) and Zane Gurwitz (Angels) are the ex-Longhorns who were caught up in last week's wave of cuts.https://t.co/JFBBU8pSay #HookEm

Clemens was selected in the eighth round by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 2017 Major League Baseball Draft. He was named the inaugural Brooks Kieschnick Team MVP and Keith Moreland Offensive Player of the Year for the 2017 season at Texas. As a senior, Clemens started 62 of 63 games where he led the Longhorns in nearly every offensive category.
It’s unclear at this time whether the minor league will resume this season.
