Former Texas RB Bijan Robinson tries his luck at quarterback during Fanatics event

Bijan Robinson may wear No. 7 like Michael Vick but he sure doesn’t throw like him.

Bijan Robinson, former Texas running back and the No. 8 overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft, is good at many things. However, we recently learned that being used as a quarterback may not be in the cards for him.

The 2022 Doak Walker award winner was recently partaking in festivities at a Fanatics event and showed off his new No. 7 jersey for the Atlanta Falcons. That number was once donned by Falcon quarterback legend Michael Vick.

Similar to Vick, Robinson throws with his left hand. However, unlike Vick, Robinson doesn’t appear to have the touch. When attempting to throw a pass to fellow first round pick Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Robinson saw his pass intercepted by a Fanatics intern. Watch the video here.

Luckily for Robinson, the Falcons will not need him to throw passes anytime soon. The Longhorn legend will stick to running the ball and playing a little receiver. This past season, Robinson posted career highs in games played (12), rushing attempts (258), rushing touchdowns (18) and receiving yards (314).

Falcons fans can expect big things from the former five-star running back out of Arizona, as while Atlanta may have had other needs to address in the first round, Robinson and head coach Arthur Smith are a great pairing. Smith spent the 2019-2020 seasons as the offensive coordinator for the Tennessee Titans, meaning he is well aware of how to utilize a star running back: He coached Derrick Henry.

As it stands, Robinson is the favorite to win the Offensive Rookie of the Year award this season, which wouldn’t shock Texas fans at all.
