Former Texas QBs pitch Longhorns to major Georgia target Arch Manning

Texas brought out Colt McCoy and Sam Ehlinger to pitch Arch Manning…

2023 quarterback prospect Arch Manning, the No. 1 player in his class, most recently visited the Texas Longhorns led by offensive guru, head coach Steve Sarkisian.

It’s a sweepstakes among major programs for the nephew of NFL greats Peyton and Eli Manning.

The Longhorns reportedly brought out the big guns on Manning’s visit this past weekend.

Former Texas quarterbacks and current NFL signal callers Colt McCoy and Sam Ehlinger pitched the young star in Austin.

Brian Davis of the Austin American-Statesman reported that coach Sarkesian and staff greeted Manning upon arrival.

“When you recruit high-level players, we can’t get impatient because we don’t have guys just committing left and right,” Sarkisian said. “We could get guys to commit, but they might not be the right guys for our program.”

John Garcia Jr. of Sports Illustrated reported in October that Manning said the decision could come as early as this spring.

The Isidore Newman prospect visited Georgia the weekend of March 19 and according to sources within the program, was thoroughly impressed with the Bulldogs.

Other programs in the running are Alabama and Ole Miss.

Whomever Manning does choose will have a day one starter on their hands.
