Former Texas head coach Tom Herman is moving out of coaching and has accepted a position with CBS as a TV analyst.
Herman’s broadcasting debut is scheduled for the North Texas vs. SMU game during week one of the college football season.
Herman spent four years as the Longhorns’ head coach before getting fired at the conclusion of the 2020 season. Texas went 32-16 during Herman’s tenure, highlighted by a 10-win season in 2018. He previously had a very successful stint at Houston from 2015-2016.
Last season Herman served as an offensive analyst for the Chicago Bears under Matt Nagy.
More coaching opportunities may be in store for Herman in the future but he is using his knowledge as a member of the media for the time being.
