Former TCU WR Cordale Russell gives commitment to Colorado

“Baby T.O.” is coming to Boulder

Last season, Colorado head coach Deion Sanders got Pro Football Hall of Fame wide receiver Terrell Owens to coach up Travis Hunter. Well, Coach Prime better have Owens on speed dial because Cordale Russell, also known as “Baby T.O.,” transferred to the Buffs on Sunday.

Russell comes to Colorado by way of TCU, and he fits the bill of his nickname. Listed at 6-foot-4 and 210 pounds, the freshman Russell brings a lot of size to the wide receiver position. Watching his high school film, two things immediately jump off the screen. First, Russell uses his size effectively in jump ball situations. He can high-point the ball well and come down with catches over smaller defensive backs. Second, Russell should be a yards-after-catch monster for CU, especially in the bubble screen game.

Russell was a four-star athlete in the 2022 class and only spent one season at TCU, so Buffs fans should see plenty of this big wideout in the coming seasons.
