Former Sooner Joe Mixon runs wild against Buffalo in Divisional Game

Joe Mixon had a strong day for the Cincinnati Bengals against the Buffalo Bills

After Joe Mixon was held in check by the stingy Baltimore Ravens defense in the Wild Card Round a week ago, the former Oklahoma Sooners running back fared much better against the Buffalo Bills.

The Cincinnati Bengals star rushed for 105 yards on 20 carries and found the end zone on a hard-earned run from the one-yard line. The Bengals are now just one step away from making their second Super Bowl in as many years.

Behind Mixon, Samaje Perine, also had a solid day against Buffalo’s run defense. Perine rushed for 33 yards on seven attempts. Perine also did better against Buffalo than he did against Baltimore. The Ravens held Perine to 18 yards on six attempts.

With their win in a very hostile and snowy Buffalo, the Bengals have earned a date with the very same team they defeated in the AFC Championship Game a year ago: the Kansas City Chiefs.

Patrick Mahomes sustained a high ankle sprain in the Cheifs’ game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, but expects to play next week at Arrowhead.

As for the Bengals, Joe Burrow is looking more and more like the class of the NFL. With Burrow dealing like he did in Buffalo, another shot at a Lombardi Trophy could be on the way to Cincinnati.
