Former SEC head coach picks Auburn to finish last in SEC West

The coach in question doesn’t have a great track record against the Tigers.

One former SEC head coach isn’t impressed with Auburn this year.

Former Gators head coach Dan Mullen released his rankings for both divisions in the SEC, and he doesn’t look favorably on the Auburn Tigers. Mullen has the Tigers placing last in the division behind the LSU Tigers and another former team he coached, the Mississippi Bulldogs.

Mullen recently joined ESPN as an analyst, so it’s no surprise that he has recently been stating his opinions early and often before the college football season gets underway for 2022. The last time Mullen faced off against Auburn was in 2019, where his Gators team defeated the Tigers 24-13. He didn’t have much luck when he was a head coach of the Bulldogs, going just 3-9 over that stretch against the Auburn Tigers.

Auburn will get the first chance to prove him wrong when it defends home territory against the Mercer Bears on Saturday. Mullen, meanwhile, having been fired from Florida last year, will be watching games from the booth.
