The journey of former Seattle Seahawks safety in 2024 has hit another speed bump. Jamal Adams, who was released by Seattle in the offseason, and eventually released (by his own request) by the Tennessee Titans, is once again looking for a new NFL home. After his release by Tennessee, Adams decided to not return to the Seahawks (despite an offer by the team) and instead chose to sign with the Detroit Lions’ practice squad.
On Wednesday, Adams begins his 2025 unemployed, as the Lions announced they were releasing him from the practice squad. Adams finishes his brief tenure in the Motor City having appeared in only two games and recorded three tackles.

Adams only recently turned 29 this year in October. It’s hard to imagine someone of his resume won’t get another shot somewhere else in this league, but the fact literally three teams gave up on him this season – especially one as injury depleted as Detroit – is also going to be an incredibly tough barrier to overcome.
Injuries have derailed what was looking like an all time career for Adams, and it does not seem he will be able to prove he is past them this year. We at Seahawks Wire do hope for the best for him, and that he lands on his feet elsewhere.
