Former Green Bay Packers tight end Jace Sternberger was named to the 2023 All-USFL team after leading the league in touchdown catches.

Sternberger, now a member of the Birmingham Stallions, caught 33 passes for 517 yards and seven touchdowns over 10 games. He finished 12th in the league in catches, fourth in receiving yards and first in touchdown catches.

The Packers made Sternberger a third-round pick in the 2019 draft. He caught only 12 passes over 18 games and 262 total snaps in Green Bay, and a suspension for violating league policy to start his third season led to him being released in 2021.

During his first season in the USFL, Sternberger caught touchdown passes in seven of 10 games, including the first three of the season and the final four of the season. He also produced five games with 50 or more receiving yards.

Here’s the All-USFL team on offense for 2023:

Sternberger spent time with the Seattle Seahawks, Washington Commanders and Pittsburgh Steelers after being released by the Packers but didn’t not play a regular-season snap for any of the three franchises.

It’s quite possible this productive stint in the USFL will get him another shot with an NFL team at some point in 2023. The Stallions, who won the league last season, will play the New Orleans Breakers in the first round of the playoffs on Sunday, June 25. FOX will televise. The winner will face the winner between the Pittsburgh Maulers and Michigan Panthers in the title game.

In other former Packers news, receiver Bailey Gaither finished 10th in the USFL in catches as a member of the Maulers, and running back Dexter Williams finished 18th in rushing yards for the Philadelphia Stars.
