Former Oklahoma basketball star Trae Young will be College GameDay’s guest picker

Toby Keith? Bob Stoops? Kyler Murray? No, no and no. It will be Trae Young who will guest pick games on ESPN’s College GameDay.

Toby Keith? Bob Stoops? Kyler Murray?

No, no and no.

ESPN’s College GameDay is live from Norman, Oklahoma, for the big matchup between Oklahoma and Oklahoma State in Bedlam. The guest picker for the show has been hotly (not) debated for much of the week leading up to the Saturday morning show.

It won’t be any of those three, as ESPN has selected former Sooners’ basketball star Trae Young as the guest picker for the show.

Young played one season for Lon Kruger and Oklahoma in 2017-18. He led all of college basketball that season in points (27.4 per game) and assists (8.7 per game), the first player in the history of the game to do so in both categories. Young would go on to be named an All-Big 12 selection, the USBWA Wayman Tisdale Freshman of the Year and a consensus All-American.

He would become the No. 5 selection in the 2018 NBA Draft for the Atlanta Hawks and was named an All-Star in just his second season this past season.

College GameDay is currently live on ESPN. Oklahoma and Oklahoma State are set to kickoff at 6:30 p.m. CT on ABC.
