Former Ohio State receiver Michael Thomas makes 99 Madden club

Former Ohio State Michael Thomas has been assigned the coveted 99 rating in the latest EA Sports Madden ’21 release.

We’ve got another member of the so-called “99 club,” and it has nothing to do with touchdown catches, receptions, or bottles of beer on the proverbial wall. It has everything to do instead with the coveted highest rating in the popular EA Sports Madden NFL franchise. That’s right, former Ohio State and current New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas is the highest-rated receiver in the Madden ’21 game, and is one of just five players with a 99 overall rating in the game.

For Thomas, it is well deserved. He has had arguably the best first five years of any NFL receiver ever to play the game and continues to get better each and every year. Last season, he broke his own single-season receptions record and there doesn’t appear to be any end in sight.

Thomas is not the only former Ohio State player to be highly rated in the new release of ratings by EA Sports, but we’ll have a rundown of all of that in a future article.

For now, Thomas an at least check this pretty cool moment off of his bucket list. We’re guessing that list is shrinking by the year.
