Former Ohio State players Vonn Bell, Joe Burrow named captains for Cincinnati Bengals

Former Ohio State players Joe Burrow and Vonn Bell have both been named team captains for the Cincinnati Bengals in 2020.

The Cincinnati Bengals are hoping that this NFL season is one in which they show a big improvement in the product everyone saw on the field last season. The team has a shiny, new toy to play with under center in Joe Burrow, and the hope is that it’ll be enough to make the team much better than the 2-14 record it finished with last year.

In order for that to happen, the Bengals will need their leaders of the team to not only produce, but get the best out of the others around them.

And, on that note, Cincinnati named its captains for the 2020-2021 season and there are a couple of former Ohio State players in the mix. One of those is former Buckeye backup quarterback Joe Burrow in his rookie season, and another is former OSU safety Vonn Bell.

And before LSU fans throw up all over claiming Burrow as a Buckeye, he got a lot of training and leadership qualities in Columbus before he became a graduate transfer to the Bayou. Meanwhile, Bell is a true born and bred Ohio State player that has begun to carve out a nice niche in the NFL.

The other five captains for 2020 include Giovani Bernard, Josh Bynes, A.J. Green, Kevin Huber, and Shawn Williams.

It’s clear that they breed leaders at Ohio State, and having two more at the next level on one team is just another example.
