Another former MSU Football standout has found a home at the next level.
On Thursday, the Pittsburgh Steelers announced that they have signed former Spartan wide receiver Cody White to their practice squad.
White has bounced around some teams but hopefully this spot sticks. The Steelers brought him in for a workout on Tuesday and must have liked what they saw. While White doesn’t have elite speed, he does have a big frame at 6-foot-3 and I think fits the mold of a solid journeyman wide receiver.
White was initially signed by the Kansas City Chiefs after going undrafted before being waived in late July. He then went from the New York Giants to the Denver Broncos before ending up with the Steelers.
As a player who came out of school after his junior season, I believe that White was heavily impacted by the pandemic, which limited opportunities to go workout for teams around the country, but now that he’s found a home hopefully he gets a solid chance to stick with Pittsburgh for the long term, with fellow Spartan Justin Layne.
We have signed WR Cody White to the practice squad.
