Former LSU quarterback Myles Brennan releases a statement on transferring

Myles Brennan thanks the LSU staff, fans, and his family as he announced his decision to leave.

The LSU Tigers lost another member of the football family when senior quarterback Myles Brennan was rumored to be heading to the transfer portal. Ed Orgeron confirmed the report in his Monday press conference and Brennan has since released a statement through his Twitter account.

Brennan leaves LSU after five years and 18 games played. He appeared in six games as a freshman and eight more as the backup to Joe Burrow in 2019. He got off to a hot start in 2020 before an injury ended his year. This season he broke his arm before camp, essentially ending any shot at playing this year. Orgeron stated that Brennan wasn’t ready to play and wouldn’t this year.

Brennan leaves with zero regrets as an LSU Tiger.

Dear LSU Family,

I cannot thank you all enough for your unwavering support over the last five years. It was a dream to come to LSU and wear the Purple and Gold, but now it is time to move on and start a new chapter. This is one of the hardest decisions I have ever made, but I know in my heart is time. I leave knowing that since the moment I stepped on campus I have everything to Coach O and my brothers.

I will be a Tiger for life and will never forget the memories from my time in Baton Rouge. I am grateful for the support through the ups and downs from LSU fans and especially my incredible family. I look forward to what is next and finding the best fit to help me achieve my dream of being an NFL quarterback.

Forever LSU,

Myles Brennan
