Ex-LSU quarterback Joe Burrow is set to undergo reconstructive knee surgery this week in Los Angeles, as reported by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport on Sunday.
The procedure will be performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache, the Rams and Dodgers team doctor.
Burrow tore his ACL and his MCL, also suffering structural damage to his left knee when he was injured in the Nov. 22 contest against Washington.
Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor told reporters this week that there is currently no timetable on Burrow’s return to the field. Surgery now should put Burrow on pace to return some time at the beginning of the 2021 season.

Even after the injury, Burrow participated in quarterback meetings the week following the game.
“Joe’s hanging in there,” Bengals defensive end Sam Hubbard said. “He’s on his way to [the] West Coast to get the surgery and start his path to recovery. Mentally, he’s staying up. My heart goes out to him as his surgery approaches and his recovery process begins.”
The Heisman Trophy winner was putting together a season with Rookie of the Year potential before he was sidelined, completing over 65% of his passes for 2,688 yards with 13 touchdowns and five interceptions.
Burrow was also routinely failed by his offensive line, sacked an absurd 32 times through 10 games.
