Former Lady Vols’ WNBA results for July 9

A look at Rickea Jackson and Rae Burrell’s performances against Minnesota on Tuesday.

Two former Lady Vols competed in the WNBA on Tuesday.

Minnesota defeated Los Angeles, 82-67, at Cypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California.

Rickea Jackson started for the Sparks and played 21 minutes. She totaled six points and one rebound. Jackson converted 3-of-8 field goal attempts.

Rae Burrell did not score for Los Angeles. She recorded three rebounds and one assist, while playing 21 minutes.

Jackson played for the Lady Vols from 2022-24 for head coach Kellie Harper.  She was a two-time All-SEC performer for Tennessee after transferring from Mississippi State.

Jackson was selected in the first round of the 2024 WNBA draft by Los Angeles. (No. 4 overall).

Burrell played at Tennessee from 2018-22 for Harper and Holly Warlick. She was a second-team All-SEC performer for the Lady Vols in 2021.

Burrell was selected in the first round of the 2022 WNBA draft by the Sparks (No. 9 overall).
