Former five-star running back recruit Zach Evans is transferring to Ole Miss. Evans spent two seasons at TCU and is a coveted 2023 NFL draft prospect.

Evans is transferring after longtime TCU coach Gary Patterson parted ways with the program midway through the 2021 college football season.

Evans’ college recruitment was the longest odyssey for any elite recruit in the class of 2020. Evans was initially expected to sign with the Georgia Bulldogs at the Under Armour All-American Game.

Now, Evans will be playing for Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss. Evans played high school football at North Shore in Houston, Texas.

Zach Evans thanked TCU and announced his transfer to Ole Miss via Twitter:

Evans is projected to be one of the top running backs in the SEC next season. The former five-star recruit has 1,063 career rushing yards on 146 carries. Evans averages over seven yards per carry and has scored 10 total touchdowns.

Zach Evans is also a good pass catcher coming out of the backfield.
