Former Florida WR slated for second-round pick in NFL draft

See where Pro Football Focus has Ricky Pearsall going in the latest NFL mock draft for 2024

The Florida Gators have a few former members of its football program heading into this year’s NFL draft and one significant member of the 2023 roster is being predicted to find a team in the second round.

Pro Football Focus released a mock draft on Monday and has wide receiver [autotag]Ricky Pearsall[/autotag] being selected by the Carolina Panthers on day two of the draft. As of now, the Panthers own the No. 33 pick

The former UF wideout finished his collegiate career this past season and recently put a cherry on top by participating in the Reese’s Senior Bowl.

Draft analyst Connor Rogers had nothing but admiration for Pearsall during his explanation on PFF’s NFL Stock Exchange Podcast on Friday following the Senior Bowl.

“Pearsall catches everything, he knows how to separate, he’s a good athlete, he can make a spectacular catch, he’s got excellent footwork; this is the kind of pro the Panthers need so badly for Bryce (Young).”

Pearsall was the go-to man for quarterback Graham Mertz last season, collecting 965 yards on 65 catches and four touchdowns. The Arizona State transfer averaged 14.8 yards a catch for the Gators and the Panthers will look to replicate those numbers if the mock draft comes true.

The first round of the 2024 NFL draft will begin on April 25 and run through April 27.
