Former Clemson running back Wayne Gallman is back in professional football

Wayne Gallman is returning to professional football.

A former Clemson running back is returning to professional football after some time away from the game.

The United Football League announced multiple signings on Friday, with Wayne Gallman agreeing to a contract to sign with the St. Louis Battlehawks. The UFL is giving former professionals and more an opportunity to play football again, with Gallman taking advantage.

The last time Gallman was in the NFL was in 2022 when he was on both the Kansas City Chiefs and Seattle Seahawks practice squads. During his NFL career, Gallman appeared in 61 games for the New York Giants, Atlanta Falcons, and Minnesota Vikings, rushing for 1,548 yards and nine touchdowns.

Gallman’s professional career started with the Giants, where he was drafted 140th overall in the 2017 NFL draft. He left Clemson rushing for 429 rushing yards on 676 carries, with 34 touchdowns over 42 games (37 starts).
