Former Bills TE Tommy Sweeney ‘good’ after ‘medical event’ at Giants practice

Former #Bills TE Tommy Sweeney ‘good’ after ‘medical event’ at #Giants practice:

A scary scene unfolded at New York Giants training camp involving for Buffalo Bills tight end Tommy Sweeney.

On Wednesday, Sweeney fell to the ground while working out on the sideline of practice with a trainer according to Giants Wire. It’s unclear what exactly happened but after receiving treatment for an extended period on the field, Sweeney was carted off.

As of Thursday, New York head coach Brian Daboll gave a positive update. However, he did not elaborate on exactly what happened.

“He’s good,” Daboll said. ““He’s still going through some evaluations. Not going to get into anything specific. … He’s still going through some stuff.”

The 28-year-old Sweeney signed a one-year contract with the Giants this offseason, following Daboll there from Buffalo. The Bills selected the tight end in the seventh round of the 2019 NFL draft.

While in Buffalo, Sweeney was a depth option for the Bills. Perhaps what he was most well-known for with the Bills was when he missed the 2020 season after being diagnosed with myocarditis related to a COVID-19 diagnosis.
