Former Alabama wide receiver Cam Sims signed with the New York Giants practice squad on Monday. Sims was recently released by the Las Vegas Raiders on Aug. 29.

Sims played for Alabama from 2014-2017. The Louisana native hauled in 41 receptions for 467 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He was a key piece of Alabama’s receiving core up until he entered the 2018 NFL draft.

Sims went undrafted and signed as an undrafted free agent with the Washington Commanders.

In five seasons with the Commanders, Sims had 57 receptions for 804 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

Following the 2022 season, Sims signed a one-year deal with the Raiders. After five months with the Raiders organization, Sims was released.

Now, he will have an opportunity to work his way up from the practice squad. It will be interesting to see if Sims is elevated to the Giants active roster at any point during the 2023 season.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow Sims’ professional career as well as other former Alabama players in the NFL.
