After a tumultuous college career, former Alabama tight end Jahleel Billingsley will officially be entering the 2023 NFL draft. The news was first reported by On3’s Matt Zenitz.
Billingsley spent three seasons in Tuscaloosa. The native of Chicago, Illinois hauled in 37 catches for 549 receiving yards and six touchdowns with the Tide. He played in 36 games during his time at Alabama.
After transferring to Texas, Billingsley saw minimal playing time. He was suspended for the first six games of the season for violating team rules. Following the suspension, he was still unable to have a meaningful impact on the Longhorns’ offense. He hauled in just three receptions for 38 receiving yards.
Now, Billingsley is slated to attempt to play at the next level. With off-the-field issues and limited playing time, it will be difficult for Billingsley to be drafted. However, he could make an NFL team’s roster. That will be answered in May of 2023.
