The Dolphins also put five other players on the reserve/COVID-19 list on Thursday.

Davis, who was selected by the Dolphins as the 56th overall pick of the 2020 NFL draft, has either tested positive for the coronavirus or he has been exposed to someone who has it.

As the Dolphins share on their tweet, “This new reserve list category was created for a player who either tests positive for COVID-19 or who has been quarantined after having been in close contact with an infected person or persons.”

According to a report by AL.com,

“Players placed on the reserve/COVID-19 aren’t allowed to have contact with team personnel (except the medical staff), enter team facilities or travel.

A player who has tested positive but has no symptoms can return to the facility 10 days after the positive test or after two straight negative tests 24 hours apart at least five days after the positive test.

A player with a positive test and symptoms can return to the facility 10 days after symptoms appeared as long as it’s been at least 72 hours since he experienced any symptoms.

A player in close contact with someone who had a positive test must have two negative tests 24 hours apart to return.

Once cleared to return to the facility, players who have had positive tests will have to undergo progressive exercise periods of three or seven days, depending on the severity of the case, before returning to practice.”

For the Crimson Tide, Davis recorded 160 tackles (59 solo) and 8.5 sacks.
