Football Manager 2023 coming soon to PlayStation, Game Pass, and Apple Arcade

Football Manager is returning to PlayStation consoles, and comes with gaming subscriptions Game Pass and Apple Arcade.

Football Manager 2023, the new annual edition of the world most popular soccer management sim, is coming in just two months time, and anyone investing in a regular gaming subscription may find they have access to it at no extra cost.

The release date for the brand new soccer sim is November 8, 2023. It comes at the time we pretty much expected it to, but hardcore fans will be overjoyed to find that they might not need to pay extra, thanks to subscriptions available for Apple devices and Xbox.

Yes, Football Manager 2023 is coming to both Xbox Game Pass and Apple Arcade subscriptions. Both of these services have been dubbed the “Netflix of gaming,” allowing access to a long list of titles with a simple subscription fee.

This is also the first time Football Manager has been released on the new PS5. Despite this, there is currently no announcement that Football Manager 2023 will be added to the expanded PlayStation Plus Premium subscription line-up.

Studio director, Miles Jacobson, said: “FM23 marks another significant step forward for the Football Manager series as we debut on two new platforms. Fans have been calling for us to produce a PlayStation title for a number of years, so I’m excited for those players to now get the chance to experience the closest thing to being a real football manager.”

The Apple Arcade support is a welcome piece of news for Apple fans. “Our decision to not release a Touch game on iOS or Android in 2021 was a difficult one to take and a disappointing one for some of our fans,” Jacobson explains. “This exciting partnership with Apple Arcade allows us to reintroduce a popular title in a way that makes sense for us as a studio and for the wider FM community.”

November 8 will see FM23 Mobile launch for iOS and Android, while FM23 Touch will be available on Apple Arcade and Nintendo Switch. Console versions are available on both Xbox and PS5, while the PC version – often considered to be the best – is launching on both Steam and the Epic Games Store.
