Five-star WR Micah Hudson takes unofficial visit to Texas

The Longhorns received a visit from one of the top players in the class of 2024 this week.

Prior to taking an official visit to Texas Tech this weekend, five-star wide receiver Micah Hudson made a quick pitstop to see another program.

That program happened to be Texas.

The trip to Austin marks the first time since March that Hudson has been on campus. Hudson is widely regarded as one of the best talents at the high school level as according to 247Sports. He ranks as the No. 8 player in the country, No. 2 wide receiver, and the No. 2 player in the state of Texas.

While the visit is just a brief one, it can help Texas make further progress in landing the Temple native. In an interview with 247Sports, Hudson explained what differentiated this unofficial visit from his others.

“The biggest difference from this visit to the others I’ve taken to Texas this year would just be getting that one-on-one time with everybody. Seeing how the players work in the film room, getting individual time with Coach (Chris) Jackson, and meeting with the Texas creative team and seeing how I can be successful outside of football.”

He touched on how important it was to converse with Jackson and what their relationship is like.

“I was able to pick up a good vibe with Coach Jackson and think that we have a good relationship being built up. He’s always real with me and he was just explaining how it would be if I went to Texas. I was able to bond with everybody on staff and got a good feel for what the day-to-day life would be like at Texas. When we broke down film together today he was just showing me some of my own film with commentary along with some college film as well.”

As it stands right now, Texas holds just three commits in their 2024 class. They are set to bring Hudson back for an official visit on June 23.
