Five biggest concerns heading into the Alamo Bowl

The Valero Alamo Bowl is just days away, Longhorns wire breaks down the five biggest concerns for Texas ahead of its final game of 2020.

Who will be the go-to receiver

No Brennan Eagles in this game means it will be next man up. The Longhorns have options, such as Joshua Moore, who is second on the team in receiving yards and leads the team with seven touchdowns. He would be the first option to be the guy against the Colorado defense. Moore has something to prove. He wasn’t as much of a factor down the stretch as early in the season.

Jake Smith and Jordan Whittington were both expected to make strides this season as they looked to replace Devin Duvernay’s production. It never came to fruition. Smith and Whitt dealt with injuries throughout the season, but they could finish the year strongly. Then there is the graduate transfer in Tarik Black.

Black was named the starter on the outside (X) receiver spot. He was passed by Eagles, and his playing time on the field dipped. He could be one player to watch against Colorado. Black has yet to decide if he will return in 2021. The dark horse candidate to watch is Kelvontay Dixon.
