A whole new safety tandem

No Caden Sterns and no Chris Brown once again for this game. Many thought we would see the emergence of B.J. Foster, but he was hampered by a hamstring injury that cost him the Kansas State game and likely would have cost him the Kansas game had it not been canceled. Foster’s next big opportunity could come against Colorado in the Alamo Bowl.

Reports surfaced late last week that safety Montrell Estell would make the move to wide receiver and Jalen Green would see action at safety. Green might be the best bet to see significant time at two spots against the Buffaloes. However, don’t count out Jerrin Thompson in this game.

Thompson had a big performance against the Wildcats in which he intercepted one pass that set up a Roschon Johnson touchdown and came close to a second. He along with Foster could be the two starters in 2021 and he should see significant time in the bowl game. Thompson is yet another young gun from the 2020 class looking to make an impact.
