San Francisco can clinch its second postseason appearance in three seasons with a win or tie against the Rams or a loss or tie by the New Orleans Saints (8-8), who play at the Atlanta Falcons (7-9) Sunday, also at 4:25 p.m. ET.
The Rams, who already wrapped up a playoff berth, win the NFC West with a win or tie vs. the 49ers or a loss or tie by the Arizona Cardinals (11-5), who host the Seattle Seahawks (6-10) Sunday at 4:25 p.m. ET.
The 49ers beat the visiting Houston Texans 23-7 Sunday. Rookie QB Trey Lance, starting in place of injured QB Jimmy Garoppolo (thumb), threw for 249 yards with 2 second-half touchdowns and the defense tossed a shutout in the second half as the 49ers covered as 14-point favorites.
The Rams rallied for a 20-19 victory at the Baltimore Ravens in Week 17. L.A., which won its fifth in a row, trailed 16-7 with 4:42 to go in the third quarter before scoring 2 touchdowns in the fourth for the win. QB Matthew Stafford and WR Odell Beckham Jr. hooked up for a 7-yard TD pass with 57 seconds to go for the winning score — the Rams missed the ensuing two-point conversion attempt.

San Francisco took the first meeting of the season, cruising to a 31-10 home victory in Week 10 as a 3.5-point underdog.
The 49ers have actually won the last five in this series. They swept both games last season with a 24-16 home win in Week 6 as 2.5-point underdogs and a 23-20 squeaker in Week 12 as 5-point road ‘dogs.
