Cincinnati Bengals RB Joe Mixon had a chaotic offseason from legal troubles to concerns over whether or not he would be cut to save cap space. Nonetheless, Mixon is the RB1 in what should be one of the most potent offenses in the NFL. Mixon has been to 1 Pro Bowl since being selected 48th overall in the 2017 NFL Draft.

Below, we look at Joe Mixon‘s 2023 fantasy football average draft position (ADP) and where you should draft him.

Mixon is expected to be the lead back in Cincinnati, and in an environment dominated by committee backfield approaches, Mixon may find a leg up. He had potential to finish as a top-10 back in the NFL.

Where should you draft Mixon?

Mixon’s fantasy value should get a slight boost this season as the Bengals lost pass-catching RB Samaje Perine in the offseason. While minimal, that should mean increased involvement for Mixon. The Bengals’ offense is primed to be one of the best in the NFL, and with an improved offensive line, Mixon’s numbers should benefit.

Teams should be far more afraid of Burrow and company than Mixon and should defend accordingly. In 3 of the last 5 seasons he’s topped 1,000 yards rushing and has increased his receptions in each of the last 3.

Draft Mixon ahead of players with unknown workloads or offenses like Hall and Green Bay RB Aaron Jones. Mixon should be going in the early to middle of the 3rd round in 12-team leagues and has more value in PPR formats given his increasing usage in the passing game. He should be early 4th round for 10-team leagues as well.
