Fantasy football draft: Where to target Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson

Analyzing Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson’s 2021 fantasy football ADP and where you should target him in your drafts.

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson heads into the 2021 NFL season as one of the top-5 fantasy quarterbacks in most formats. Below, we look at Lamar Jackson‘s 2021 fantasy football average draft position (ADP) and where you should draft him.

Jackson might not be the pure pocket passer like some of his counterparts, but the 2019 NFL MVP is a dual threat who can pile up fantasy points in the passing department and in the rushing category.

In fact, he has rushed for five or more touchdowns in each of his first three NFL seasons.

Jackson’s ADP: 18.37

Jackson has been going off the board as the fourth quarterback in most fantasy formats, just behind Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes, Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen and Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray.

Jackson saw a little bit of a backslide from his MVP season of 2019, but his numbers were still amazing for the quarterback position.

Where should you take Jackson in your fantasy football draft?

Jackson has been going off the board mostly in the second round of drafts. While I am not a huge fan of drafting a quarterback early, Jackson is a special talent who not only can pass for big yardage but will gobble up fantasy points like a running back.

Jackson is the only quarterback in NFL history to run for 1,000-plus yards in consecutive seasons. Michael Vick is the only other quarterback to have accomplished a 1,000-yard rushing season and he did it just once.

Jackson is much more than just a running quarterback, though, and the Ravens brought in help for the upcoming season. Veteran WR Sammy Watkins comes over to help give the receiving corps some leadership, and the team used its first-round pick on WR Rashod Bateman.

The Ravens also drafted rookie WR Tylan Wallace, giving them a cadre of young wide receivers.

Jackson is a bona fide QB1 in all fantasy formats with added value in leagues rewarding 100-yard rushing performances. He hit triple digits in rushing yards twice last season, and had 94 or more yards on four occasions.

While there is always concern of injury for a running QB, Jackson has been very durable, missing just two games in his three-year NFL career.

Draft him as the fourth quarterback off the board, before the end of Round 2, and enjoy the ride.
