Fantasy football draft: Where to target Arizona Cardinals WR DeAndre Hopkins

Analyzing Arizona Cardinals WR DeAndre Hopkins’ 2021 fantasy football ADP and where you should target him in your drafts.

Arizona Cardinals WR DeAndre Hopkins set career-highs and franchise records in his first season with the team after being traded from the Houston Texans. Below, we look at DeAndre Hopkins‘ 2021 fantasy football average draft position (ADP) and where you should draft him.

Hopkins tied his career-high in receptions and set a Cardinals record for a single season with 115 in 2020. He is in the conversation of the best receiver in the NFL right now.

What does that mean for his fantasy value as he enters his second season with the Cardinals?

Hopkins is going 27th among all players with an average position of 27.78, just behind Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson. He has gone as high as ninth overall and as low as 51st. He is rostered in 53% of leagues.

He’s being chosen as the fourth wide receiver. Only Kansas City Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill, Green Bay Packers WR Davante Adams and Buffalo Bills WR Stefon Diggs are going earlier.

Where should you take DeAndre Hopkins in your fantasy football draft?

Hopkins is a volume receiver and plays in an offense that will throw the ball a lot. He has three seasons with more than 110 catches, four with more than 100 and five with more than 95. That makes him extremely valuable in PPR leagues. He has three seasons with double-digit touchdowns.

In Arizona’s offense, he is a lock to have at least 110 catches and 1,400 yards. He managed to do that in his first year in the offense in a pandemic year with virtually no offseason work. That is his floor.

The question is how many more touchdowns he can get.

Arizona’s offense is expected to be prolific in 2021 so there will be many touchdowns, but QB Kyler Murray takes some of them himself in the run game. Expect Hopkins to have around 10 touchdowns in 2021.

You should target Hopkins starting in the second round. By the third and almost certainly fourth, he won’t likely be on the board.
