There were lofty expectations set forth for incoming transfer Grant Nelson. Less than a week ago, Nelson was named a Preseason All-SEC First-Team selection.
In his season debut on Monday night, Nelson scored 24 points, grabbed seven rebounds, and dished out one assist. One of the biggest plays of the night came from Nelson in the second half.
The North Dakota native made a posterizing dunk with just over six minutes left in the game. The dunk caught the attention of the fans who soon errupted with “Grant Nelson” chants.
