Fans look for answers on social media following Arkansas’ early exit from NCAA Tourney

Razorback fans took to social media to offer praise and voice frustrations after Arkansas baseball’s season-ending loss to TCU on Monday.

Arkansas baseball’s tumultuous season has finally come to an end at the hands of one of the hottest teams in baseball. TCU was able to put away the Razorbacks 12-4 on Monday, just 24 hours after throttling the Hogs 20-5, to advance in the NCAA Tournament.

“First I wanna congratulate TCU,” said Van Horn following the game. “They were a wrecking crew, man. They were really good this weekend, and when we saw they were coming to us – we knew what we were getting into.”

The Diamond Hogs finished the year 43-18 and as the No. 3 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament after battling through significant injury issues. They were able to win a share of the SEC regular season tournament, but that’s nothing more than an empty consolation prize for most Razorback players, coaches and fans.

The end of Arkansas baseball’s season also coincides with the end of the 2022-23 athletic calendar year. Across the three major sports (football, men’s basketball and baseball) expectations weren’t met thanks to serious injuries to key contributors among other things.

As the 2022-23 athletic season officially ends with Arkansas baseball’s regional loss, fans took to social media to look for answers and hope as we head into 2023-24.
