Falcons showing interest in Florida TE Kyle Pitts

The Falcons could land themselves a once in a generation tight end with Florida’s Kyle Pits.

The Atlanta Falcons hold the No. 4 selection in the 2021 NFL draft and could very well use it on the best non-quarterback prospect in this year’s class. After his pro day on Wednesday, Florida tight end Kyle Pitts met with the Falcons and it sounds like the team could be interested in the surefire top-10 pick.

Pitts confirmed to D’Orlando Ledbetter from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that he still intends to speak more with Atlanta

“They were saying that they have interest in me. After today, we’ll get on another Zoom and they’ll try to learn more about myself. I feel like they are pretty interested.”

Pitts remains one of the favorites to be selected by the Falcons with the expectation that quarterbacks will be taken with the first three picks. If the team does in fact go with Pitts, Atlanta would be getting an absolute monster of a play-maker. With size and ball skills comparable to Hall of Fame wide receiver Calvin Johnson, the Falcons’ offense could eclipse that of their historic 2016 unit that led them to the Super Bowl.

That Falcons haven’t had a true game-changer at tight end since Tony Gonzalez was traded to Atlanta in 2009 — where he would rack up four consecutive Pro Bowls to end his NFL career.
