Expert picks: Auburn looks to close out the home slate in style

The final home game of the 2022 slate is upon us, and the Auburn Tigers look to go out with a bang.

The Tigers welcome Western Kentucky to the Plains for a nonconference game. Auburn hopes to use this game to fine tune its craft before traveling across the state next Saturday to face Alabama in the Iron Bowl at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Western Kentucky will be no pushover, however. The Hilltoppers will bring in the nation’s No. 4 pass offense at 336.3 yards per game. As for Auburn, they allow an average of 202.8 passing yards per game, which is 35th best in the country.

When running the football, the Tigers post 190 yards per game on the ground while Western Kentucky allows 145 yards per contest.

Western Kentucky’s passing game and Auburn’s running game are the two factors that will have the attention of the staff at Auburn Wire.
