Everything Steve Sarkisian said to reporters at the Touchdown Club of Houston on Tuesday

“I didn’t come here for the paycheck, I could give a crap about that.”

Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian touched on a variety of football related topics when speaking to reporters at the Touchdown Club of Houston on Tuesday.

The second-year head coach discussed recruiting strategies, current players on the roster, the new coaching staff hires, and expectations for the future of the program among other topics.

He even expressed which NCAA rule he’d change if given the opportunity, and the specific one he mentioned is to put no cap on the number of countable coaches that a school can hire.

The probable kickoff time for the highly anticipated nonconference matchup between Texas and Alabama was also brought up by reporters. Sarkisian reiterated that sometimes teams don’t get the kickoff times they want, but he’s confident the team and fans will show up regardless. “Spot the ball and we’ll play,” he said.

Here’s everything Sarkisian had to say to reporters at the luncheon on Tuesday.
