Everything Steve Sarkisian said on Monday prior to Oklahoma State matchup

“There is no rat poison… We had a real come to Jesus this morning.”

Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian spoke with the media following Texas’ 24-21 victory over Iowa State.

Sarkisian harped that the tone around the locker room was different this week compared to the wins in weeks prior. The team as a whole knows they need to play better moving forward. Despite the shaky performance, Sarkisian believes Texas pulling out the close game showed how far they have come as a program.

The running backs group received strong praise from coach Sarkisian. Bijan Robinson and Roschon Johnson were the stars of the show against the Cyclones.

No. 22 Texas travels to Stillwater for a crucial Big 12 matchup against Oklahoma State this Saturday.

Sarkisian gave props to Oklahoma State quarterback Spencer Sanders for his experience and excellent play on the season. Texas freshman Maalik Murphy will serve as Texas’ scout team quarterback this week to prepare for Sanders.

Sark provided a positive injury update on defensive back Ryan Watts, Texas expects to have him back this weekend.
