ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith says Game 7s come down to the stars — are Boston’s up to the challenge?

Is this Jaylen and Jayson’s moment — or Jimmy and Bam’s?

What do the Boston Celtics need to do to beat the Miami Heat in Game 7 of their Eastern Conference finals series to advance and face the Golden State Warriors in the 2022 NBA Finals? ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith has a few ideas and shared them recently with Malika Andrews and Jalen Rose on “Sports Center”.

“How about not replicating your effort in Game 6?” he asked rhetorically. “How about Jaylen Brown scoring more than 2 points in the entire second half? How about Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown combing for a grand total of 1 shot in the first 11 minutes of a fourth quarter?”

Smith believes such things would help immensely, and we are inclined to agree, though we would add preventing turnovers in particular to that laundry list of must-dos.

Game 7s come down to the stars according to Smith — will Boston’s show up Sunday night?
