ESPN gives Notre Dame slight change at making College Football Playoffs

For the second week in a row, an ESPN analyst has Notre Dame making the College Football Playoffs.

It was another wild weekend in college football headlined by Texas A&M upsetting Florida, last year national champions LSU’s struggles continuing with a loss to unranked Missouri at home and a four overtime Red River rollercoaster that saw Oklahoma come out on top.

All this action led to a slight change in ESPN’s College Football Playoff pick’s made by a panel of 15 of their experts. Florida, who had five votes for the last spot, gave up those to Georgia, who got a solid win over an overrated Tennessee team.

The final spot was given to Ohio State, who has yet to play a game. They start their season in two Saturday’s, as they are the best hope for the Big Ten. Fourteen of the fifteen analysts picked the Buckeyes to make the CFP.

That last, lone vote? It went to the Irish as Ivan Maisel for the second week in a row has faith the Irish can make the final four. For reference, Maisel has Clemson, Georgia, Alabama then Notre Dame as his final four.

Everyone has Clemson as the top overall seed, then a mish-mosh among the rest. Once again, the ACC goes through Trevor Lawrence and Dabo Swinney.

The Irish hold the keys to their destiny in 2020. They beat Clemson in the regular season and everything changes. Yes, North Carolina will be a difficult game, but it comes after the contest with the Tigers. Continue circling November 7th on your schedule. It’s a big one.
