Well, lookie here. We finally — mercifully — had an Ohio State football game and other Big Ten contests to look at this past weekend after all the drama, protests, and hand-wringing during the offseason. This all after the conference decided to postpone the season due to coronavirus concerns.
Once that decision was overturned and we knew we’d likely see the Big Ten enter the fray again, ESPN updated its FPI game predictions before all the fun started. But that was based largely on potential and crazy metrics.
Now that we’ve actually had games to look at and ponder, the worldwide leader has updated those predictions once again. Ohio State was already heavily favored in the first edition, and it got us wondering what the landscape of the remaining win probability looks like according to ESPN.
So, here it is. It may be no shock to you what you find, but we’ll continue to follow what the Football Percentage Index says each week after there are more data elements for the massive computer in Bristol, Connecticut to sling around in its programming.
