The Florida Gators greatly increased its chances of appearing in the College Football Playoff this season after defeating its hated rival the Georgia Bulldogs last Saturday, as reflected in ESPN’s latest postseason prediction published on Sunday.

While there was a disruption at the top of the list as a result of Notre Dame’s shocking victory over the previously top-ranked Clemson Tigers, UF’s win also helped shake things up in the middle of the pack. Florida was not even mentioned in last week’s update but muscled its way back on the scene big-time in Jacksonville on Saturday.

The field of scope for Week 10’s Allstate Playoff Predictor has expanded to 17 teams — up from seven last week — with the addition of the Pac-12 as well as the continued play of the Big Ten.

Despite this, Florida currently sits at No. 8 on the list with an 18.2 percent chance of seizing one of the four final spots and a 2.7 percent chance of winning the national championship. The only team with better projections from the Southeastern Conference is the Alabama Crimson Tide, who currently holds the top spot with a 90.5 percent of playing in the CFP and a 39 percent chance of bringing home the whole bacon.

Here is a look at how the rest of the field shakes out.
