Golden State Warriors rookie Eric Paschall revealed on social media that he was recently racially profiled by a white woman at his apartment building where he lives.

Paschall delivered the frightening message late Wednesday night on the west coast, which likely happened at his apartment near the Chase Center in San Francisco, California. The incident revealed yet another example of racism in the United States and served as a reminder of what minorities face on a daily basis.

Paschall has been among the players to use his platform to help raise awareness for racism and police brutality. Paschall last month defended the Black Lives Matter movement following the death of George Floyd on May 25, stating that citizens in the Black community simply just want to be treated equally with respect.

Since the death of Floyd and several others, including Breonna Taylor and Ahmaud Arbery, the NBA and NBPA have agreed in principle that the goal of the season restart this month would be to find tangible and sustainable ways to address racial inequality across the country. The two sides will work in the coming weeks to help influence meaningful change.

The NBA will allow the players participating in the season restart to inscribe a phrase or message on the back of their jerseys in place of their names to help raise awareness for a social cause or movement. Philadelphia 76ers rookie Matisse Thybulle will don “Vote” on his jersey while New Orleans Pelicans guard Lonzo Ball will wear “Equality” on his jersey.
