On Tuesday, the Golden State Warriors were without an essential piece in the second unit against the Indiana Pacers. After entering the league’s health and safety protocol, Eric Paschall was ruled out against the Pacers for the final contest of a seven-game homestand.
Before the Warriors begin a three-game road trip, Paschall made his return to the team. On Wednesday, the NBA sophomore returned to Golden State’s practice after clearing the league’s health and safety protocol.
In a post-practice interview with members of the media on Wednesday, Paschall revealed he received a false positive COVID-19 test. Following his false positive, Paschall had to quarantine for 24-hours and test negative again before returning to the team.
You just take it day-by-day. Obviously, it happens. Not everything is perfect; not every system is perfect. Again it happened. Obviously, it was disappointing I couldn’t play yesterday, but I’m back. I’m happy I could come back and get on the flight tonight.

Without Paschall against the Pacers, Golden State’s bench struggled, scoring only 21 points as a unit. Damion Lee led the Warriors’ second unit with 12 points in 27 minutes against Indiana.
Prior to his one-game absence, Paschall tallied double-figure scoring efforts off the bench in eight consecutive games. The second-year forward is averaging 12.1 points on 54.3% shooting from the field with 3.2 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 19.3 minutes per game.
Paschall’s return to the Warriors comes in time for a matchup with Nikola Jokic, Paul Milsap and the Denver Nuggets. The Warriors are slated to tipoff against the Nuggets in Denver on Thursday at 7 p.m. PST.
